Now this presents an interesting character arc for myself, because at the time of writing, I have watched almost all of the Child’s Play/Chucky films in the past week. Currently I’m on Seed of Chucky, and I say currently because I feel like my brain can’t handle the stupidity in that movie all in one sitting. If you would’ve told…pretty much any version of me before I turned 16 that I would one day watch a single Chucky movie much less almost all of them, I would’ve called you crazy.

I want to make it clear that as a child, I never actually watched Child’s Play in full. No, I merely saw segments of the film due to it being on TV in my sisters’ room, and it scared the ever-loving hell out of me. Why wouldn’t it? It’s the stuff of nightmares when you’re a kid. If Toy Story is the dream, then Child’s Play is the nightmare.

As a kid, I don’t even think it was so much the fact that Chucky ran around holding a knife and stabbing people…it was just his face.
